Changing your wax isn’t hard!
I was scared to ask my consultant how to do it. Soooo, I’m gonna share with you all the things I’ve learned!
First rule of thumb, (is that the saying? That is a weird saying). Anyway, never add new wax to old. Scentsy wax will not evaporate and disappear. So you gotta take the old wax out.
Now how often should you do this? Honestly it is up to you. Everyone’s nose is different, every scent is different, and space. I personally change my wax every other day or so. But remember, do what feels right to you.
Now let’s get to the how-to part:
- Cotton Clean ups. Scentsy’s Cotton Clean-Ups make this so easy. They’ve got a dense cotton base and a little tab on top for holding. Just turn on your warmer, let the wax melt, and pop in a Clean-Up. It’ll soak up the wax – simple as that! We offer two sizes: big ones for full-size warmers (holding about 4-6 cubes of wax) and smaller ones that fit mini warmers or full-size warmers with smaller dishes (holding around 2-4 cubes). PRO TIP: Add Cotton Clean-Ups to your Scentsy Club order so you’re never out!
- No cotton clean ups? Regular cotton balls work great, too! You’ll typically need about one cotton ball per wax cube. And no worries – Scentsy wax won’t burn you, so it’s safe if you have to handle it. Just let the cotton balls soak up the wax, wipe, and toss
- Pour it in the trash NOT the drain. If your warmer has a removable dish, you can pour the wax right into the trash (not the sink). Just be warned, if you’re anything like me, it might get messy. But hey, waxidents happen, and they’re easy to clean up .
- The “puck” way. This last one takes a bit of timing. Turn on your warmer and let the wax melt just enough. When it’s at the perfect stage, you can gently push the wax out in one piece – like a puck. It’s a bit of a dance with timing, but it’s super satisfying when it works!
What NOT to do!
- No knives! Using a knife can scratch, chip, or even break your dish
- .Be cautious with the freezer trick. Yes, popping the dish in the freezer can help the wax solidify and pop out, but it’s a risky move. Sudden temp changes can crack the dish, so let it cool to room temp first before putting it back on the warmer.
If you have any questions at all, just shout at me. Hopefully this was helpful
