🗓️ Plan Ahead Like a Pro: May Content Ideas for Online Entrepreneurs
May is packed. End of the school year, graduations, the start of summer, farmer’s markets, good weather… there is so much to work with.
But if you look at your calendar, plan ahead, and schedule your content, your business will keep running… while you’re busy running around life.
Let’s break it down
🌸May Highlights
Graduation • Summer • Farmer’s Markets • Being Outside
These are the big themes this month. Here’s how they can work for your business 👇
🍳 Food People
This is a great time to talk about food safety. People are heading to cookouts, picnics, and parties. Share tips on how to do that safely, along with your favorite things to bring or prep ahead.
💍 Jewelry People
Graduation gifts are huge for jewelry. Plus, we’re heading into warmer weather. What are some lightweight staples people can wear without dealing with weird tan lines? Think simple, everyday pieces.
🧺 Cleaning & Organizing People
No one wants to clean in the summer — it’s hot. So how can you make it easier? Share quick cleaning tips for gatherings or your go-to ways to organize a backyard party without the stress.
🕯️ Scent People
Summer can feel tricky for scent, but this is where you lean into memories.
Graduations, dorm moves, summer trips — help people tie scent to those moments. Also think dorm-friendly options and those fruity, tropical summer scents.
💄 Makeup & Skincare People
Simple, light routines are key right now. Share tips for makeup that stays put in the heat, easy everyday looks, and SPF (because let’s be honest… it’s confusing for a lot of people).
Sometimes content really is as simple as asking yourself:
What’s happening in my life this month?
Do you have graduations to go to?
What about family gatherings, picnic, park days?
Hikes, are you a hiker?
Your life is content.
Don’t overthink it — sharing your life is content
🗓️ A Few Fun Days to Try:
- May 2 – Kentucky Derby Day 🏇 Food people — mint juleps! Jewelry — the hats alone are content 😂 Scent people — create a whole “Derby vibe.” You could even turn this into a fun email or engagement post (pick a hat, yes/no on mint juleps, etc.).
- May 4 – Star Wars Day 🌌 Even if you’re not a fan (same 😅), you can still have fun. “Out of this world” products, space themes, playful content.
- May 9 – Hanging Flower Day Floral scents, plant tips, gardening talk. Remember — not everything has to tie directly to your product.
- May 13 – National Apple Pie Day 🍎🥧Food people — recipes. Scent people — apple scents. Cleaning/organizing — how to store leftovers or clean up after baking.
- May 17 – Pack Rat Day 📦 We all have a system (or a mess 😅). Share how you organize your products, supplies, or workspace.
- May 23 – Lucky Penny Day 🍀 Share a little positivity — a quote, a wish, a “sending you luck today” post. Simple content still counts.
- May 27 – Sunscreen Day ☀️ Skincare people — your time to shine. Scent people — hello coconut and beachy vibes.
Almost any day — no matter the “theme” — can be adapted to your business. Build a content bank, move things around, and use these as fillers when needed.
Every day has something worth posting about. So sit down today (April 20), plan out five May posts, and schedule them. Then add two more later.
Your future self will 100% thank you.
And one more challenge — think off social.
I know this is Organized Online Entrepreneur… but online doesn’t always mean social media.
Take one of these ideas and turn it into:
something that connects outside the scroll
a short email series (1 per week)
a quick, friendly customer text
