Back to School/Dorm essentials
Let’s talk about some things and some why for back to school dorm essentials

Scentsy probably isn’t the first thing that pops into your head when you’re making your back-to-school shopping list.
I get it.
You’re buying notebooks, backpacks, dorm bins, command hooks…all the things.
But scent can actually make school life a little easier. Whether that’s helping a classroom smell a little fresher, making a locker less…locker-ish ๐, or giving your college kid something that reminds them of home.
Here’s what I’d pack.
๐ For the Teachers
Let’s be honest…kids are sticky.
Desks.
Tables.
Markers.
White boards.
Everything somehow ends up with fingerprints on it.
Scentsy Swipes
They make quick cleanups easy. They clean without that harsh chemical smell and leave behind a nice Scentsy fragrance instead.

Scent Circles
Teachers spend a LOT of time in their classrooms.
But sometimes…their car becomes their quiet place during lunch or planning period.
Why not hang a Scent Circle in the classroom…or in the car…to make those little moments feel just a bit more relaxing?

Scentsy Go or Air Quad
We’ve already established…kids can be stinky.
Both the Scentsy Go and Air Quad use fragrance pods, so there’s no wax, no mess, and no heat.
The Go is perfect for smaller spaces or tucked into a corner of the classroom.
The Air Quad can scent up to 1,000 square feet, and you can even set the fan speed and timer.
(Not sure which one would work best? I compare them in this blog.)
Air Purifier
Dude…
Germs.
I mean…that’s really all I need to say.
(Curious how the Air Purifier works? I have a full blog all about it.)
๐ For the Kids
Scent Circles
Those lockers are nasty.
Kaci once found a container of cookies that had been living in the bottom of her locker for WEEKS.
Puke.
A Scent Circle is a simple way to help lockers, backpacks or gym bags smell a little better.
Buddy Clips
Sometimes the first day of school is scary.
Sometimes you just want to spot your kid’s backpack from across the room.
Either way, Buddy Clips are adorable, smell great, and make backpacks a little easier to identify.
Pro Tip: Keep a few Buddy Clips tucked away at home. They’re one of my favorite last-minute birthday gifts. Toss one in a gift bag with a gift card or candy, and you’re done.
๐ For Dorm Life
Scentsy Suds
Hear me out.
Kaci said, “I don’t want to carry a giant bottle of detergent across campus.”
Fair.
Dorm rooms have almost no storage, and hauling heavy laundry supplies isn’t exactly fun.
I’ve also heard the rumor that laundry pods don’t always dissolve well in some campus washing machines. True? I honestly have no idea.
But Scentsy Suds detergent sheets don’t have that problem.
They’re lightweight, take up almost no space, and are super easy to toss into a laundry basket.
(Want to learn more about Scentsy Suds? I break them down here.)
Fragrance Flowers
Dorm rooms are tiny.
A Fragrance Flower sitting on a desk or bookshelf adds a little fragrance without taking up much space or needing an outlet.
Simple.
Pretty.
Done.
Scentsy Club
Hear me out on this one too.
They’re already trying to remember…
Classes.
Homework.
Laundry.
Eating something besides ramen.
Adulting.
Setting up a Scentsy Club for things like Suds, Dryer Sheets, or other everyday products means one less thing to remember.
And maybe…
Just maybe…
You won’t get that text saying,
“Mom…can you Venmo me? I forgot detergent.”
(If you’ve never heard of Scentsy Club, here’s my full explanation of how it works.)
A Little Piece of Home
They’ll tell you they’re never coming home.
They’ll tell you they’ve got this whole adult thing figured out.
Sure they do. ๐
But somewhere along the way, they’ll probably get homesick.
Maybe it’s the scent of your laundry detergent.
Maybe it’s the Scentsy Fresh you spray on the couch.
Maybe it’s the scent you’ve warmed in the kitchen for years.
Scents have a funny way of bringing back memories.
Sending them with one familiar scent from home might end up meaning more than either of you expected.
No matter what stage of back-to-school you’re in…kindergarten, middle school, high school, college, or standing in Target wondering how a tiny human suddenly needs $400 worth of school supplies…sometimes it’s the little things that make life feel just a smidge easier.
And scent is one of those little things.
If you have questions about any of these products, need help picking scents, or just aren’t sure what would work best for your classroom, your kid, or your college student…
Holler.
I’d be happy to help.
