Because receipts are dumb.
A stupid-simple way to keep track of business expenses.
I don’t need a fancy system to remember every Target run, shipping receipt or random business purchase. I just need one easy place to jot it down before the receipt disappears into the bottom of my purse.
This free printable expense tracker gives you exactly that.
Date. Description. Category. Amount. Monthly total. That’s it.
Why I made this thing…
Receipts are dumb. I truly hate them.
I crumble them up in shopping bags, shove them in the bottom of my purse when I put my wallet away…because I’m shopping. I’m not standing in Target thinking, “Oh yes, let me properly document this business expense.”
Then the end of the year comes and suddenly I have 2,342,352 receipts…and half of them have faded so much I can’t even read them. Why does receipt paper fade?!
So I started Financial Friday.
My goal (does it happen every single Friday? Absolutely not) is to empty my purse, grab the stack of receipts on my desk, open my email and quickly jot everything onto this expense tracker.
This is literally the whole system.
Fast little blip. Done.
Then when I sit down at the end of the month—or let’s be real, sometimes the end of the year—everything is already organized and MUCH easier to get to the accountant.

There’s a whole backstory, because of course there is…
This obsession started with a cardboard box full of receipts.
When Jeremy graduated from the Patrol Academy, we had to move fast. Somehow that turned into me becoming a landlord…which was definitely not on the life bingo card.
A couple months later I was sitting on the floor digging through a cardboard box full of receipts trying to organize and total everything, thinking, there has GOT to be a better way.
That’s really where all of this started.
