Calm before the crazy
We are in that weird, the week before/of christmas.
I need to wrap, i need to pack. I need to clean the house, even though tyler and the dog will be home.
Oh, we leave on christmas morning for Punta Cana. Im excited. 80s, sun and sand. We started several years ago doing a vacation instead of gifts. I feel like sometimes we just buy stuff to buy stuff at christmas. To make sure each person has the same amount of money or the same amount of stuff. And i hate that. Then as kids get older there “list” gets more expensive. They truly don’t NEED anything, they just want things.
So vacation is what we do. We are only doing stocking gifts this year, which is nice too.
And another honest moment, i hid in my house for a week. We had that cold front and that snow. Girl, i’m not made for that. so i hid, all week. And im not mad about it. The older i get the more i truly think i could live in a cabin in the woods…as long as it has good wifi and amazon delivery.
We also had jeremy’s post christmas party this week. I entered the baking competition again this year and got 1st. But ok, i’ll be honest, i was the only one who entered. But a win is a win…right? i made churro chex mix. Honestly it tasted EXACTLY like cinnamon toast crunch, just a little more buttery lol.
I just wanted an excuse to bake something honestly. I love to bake but i know we do not need to eat all those baked goods.
