Let’s debunk and answer some diffuser questions

Scentsy diffuser myths

Diffuser myths – Let’s bust them!

Diffusers, I feel, have a bad rap. People think they’re hard or scary. But dude—they aren’t! They’re actually the best item for scent control. And that’s my favorite reason to use one—scent control.

Wax is awesome, but with oils, you control the strength. Add more drops for a stronger scent, or just a few for something light and breezy. Wanna know how to use a diffuser? [Click here to check it out.]

Let’s bust some myths and answer those diffuser questions that keep popping up 👇

I have to use Distilled Water in my diffuser.

FALSE. Scentsy diffusers work with any water. I personally fill up a water bottle straight from my tap and use that to fill my diffuser. Use what you got dude!💧

A diffuser is a humidifier.

FALSE-ISh. A diffuser adds some moisture to the air, but not like a full-blown humidifier. You’ll get a gentle mist—not a rainstorm 🌧️

I can only use Scentsy Oils in my diffuser.

FALSE. Use whatever oils you love. I personally love picking up cozy, unique ones from craft shows. (More about oils [right here]!)

Are there health benefits to diffusing oil?

Ehh, tricky one. Speaking just for Scentsy oils—they’re meant for fragrance only. If they give you good vibes, less stress, or a little boost, bonus points ✨

Are diffusers safe around pets?

I’m not a vet, so always check with yours first. Every pet is different—just like people. I use a diffuser with both a cat and a dog in my home. But always talk to your vet 🐶🐱

Can I use Scentsy oils on my skin?

Um, while they do smell amazing… nope. These babies are meant to be diffused—mixed with water and turned into mist. Not rubbed on your wrists 😉

How do I clean my diffuser?

dude I wrote a whole blog on that…find it here. It is truly super easy!

The diffuser emits steam and is hot?

FALSE. It uses cool mist tech. No heat involved. So no, it won’t boil or burn ya!

You have to watch it close. When the water is gone it will keep running and burn up?

FALSE. Our diffusers shut off the misting part automatically when the water runs out. The lights stay on, but no need to babysit it.

It will ruin anything around it.

FALSE-ISH. It’s just water and oil, so yeah, don’t park it right on grandma’s antique wood dresser. But if it has room to mist, you’re golden.

Diffuser are super complicated.

FALSE. Fill it with water. Add oil. Turn it on. Done. Easier than your kid’s math homework, trust me 😅 [Learn how here.]

Oils are messy.

FALSE-ISH. Unless you’re flinging the bottle around like a snow globe, you’ll be fine. Tip, drip, done

Diffusers are expensive

FALSE-ISH. The upfront cost is more than a warmer, yeah. But long-term? You control how much oil you use. They’re safe, last for years, double as nightlights, and they’re soooo pretty ✨

So yeah—diffusers aren’t scary. They’re not high-maintenance. They’re not gonna explode (lol) or soak your couch. They’re actually one of the easiest and prettiest ways to fill your space with scent your way. Total scent control = total win 🏆
